Understanding the Dashboard
The dashboard is your home base in Bamboo, providing quick access to all features and an overview of your accounting activity.
Dashboard Layout
Section titled “Dashboard Layout”Sidebar Navigation
Section titled “Sidebar Navigation”The left sidebar contains:

Main Content Area
Section titled “Main Content Area”The center of the screen displays the current page content:
- Lists and tables for data
- Forms for data entry
- Reports and visualizations
User Menu
Section titled “User Menu”Click your avatar in the sidebar to access:
- Profile settings
- Theme toggle (light/dark mode)
- Sign out
Dashboard Statistics
Section titled “Dashboard Statistics”The dashboard shows four key metrics:

| Total Entries | Total number of journal entries |
| Today | Entries created today |
| This Month (Dr) | Total debits this month |
| This Month (Cr) | Total credits this month |
Period Close Banner
Section titled “Period Close Banner”When a fiscal period needs attention, you’ll see a banner at the top:
- Open period ending soon - Reminder to prepare for close
- Period needs closing - Fiscal year has ended, action required
- Review & Close button - Quick access to period close page
Quick Actions
Section titled “Quick Actions”- New Entry button - Create a new journal entry
- Report cards - Quick links to Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and P&L
- Recent entries table - View and expand recent journal entries
Recent Entries
Section titled “Recent Entries”The dashboard shows your recent journal entries with:
- Entry number and date
- Description
- Total amount (debit/credit)
- Status (Posted, Reversed)
- Expand to see line items
